Why Laser Renewal 360°

A medical treatment philosophy, not a package of sessions

Every plan for laser hair removal in Thane at Clear Skin Clinic begins with a dermatologist assessment, not a price list.

Personalised Assessment

Skin type, hair thickness, hormonal history and treatment area assessed before any laser setting is chosen.

Medical-Grade Technology

Laser selection, pulse duration, spot size and cooling calibrated for safe, effective hair reduction.

Dermatologist Supervised

Every session and every phase transition is reviewed by a dermatologist, not a technician alone.

Long-term Care

A maintenance plan for hormonal or age-related regrowth, long after the initial course ends.

Our Technology

Powered by a triple-wavelength diode laser

Clear Skin Clinic treats with a triple-wavelength diode platform — combining three wavelengths in a single device, rather than relying on just one. Your dermatologist selects the wavelength suited to your skin tone and hair type at each session, instead of using the same setting for every patient.

755nm

Alexandrite range

Effective on finer, lighter hair and lighter skin tones.

810nm

Diode range

The primary wavelength for most skin tones and hair combinations.

1064nm

Nd:YAG range

Penetrates deeper, suited to darker skin tones and coarser hair.

How Laser Works

From light to long-term hair reduction

Laser light is absorbed by pigment in the hair and converted into controlled heat, which reduces the follicle's ability to produce new hair — while protecting the surrounding skin.

EPIDERMIS DERMIS SUBCUTIS Melanin absorbs light Converts to heat Follicle disabled

Selective heat, at the follicle

Because melanin is the target chromophore, darker, more pigmented hairs absorb more energy than the surrounding skin — which is why hair colour, and skin tone, both shape the treatment plan.

The hair growth cycle

Anagen (active growth, 2–6 years), Catagen (2–3 week transition), and Telogen (about 3 months resting before shedding) — every hair on a treated area sits in one of these three phases at any given time.

Anagen active growth Catagen transition Telogen resting 2–6 years 2–3 weeks ~3 months
Because hairs on any treated area sit across all three phases at once, a single session can only affect the hairs currently in active growth. This is why laser hair reduction is delivered as a series of sessions, spaced to catch each follicle as it cycles back into anagen.

Which Hair Types Respond Best

Laser targets pigment — so hair colour and texture matter

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Is laser hair removal permanent?+
The medically accurate term is long-term hair reduction. Laser can reduce the number, thickness and growth rate of treated hairs, but occasional maintenance may be required.
How many sessions will I need?+
Many patients begin with approximately 6–8 sessions. Facial and hormonal areas may need additional sessions.
What if I only do 3 sessions? Will the hair grow back to baseline?+
No, it won't fully return to baseline — but it also won't match the results of a completed course. Each session permanently affects only the follicles that were in their active growth phase at that visit, which is a fraction of the total. Stopping after 3 sessions means you'll likely keep a real, visible reduction from those follicles, but the hairs that were resting or transitioning during your sessions were never treated and will grow back as usual. The result is thinner, patchier regrowth rather than your original density — noticeably better than before you started, but well short of the smoother, more complete reduction the remaining sessions are designed to catch. We'll always tell you honestly where you stand if you're considering pausing partway through.
Does laser hair reduction hurt?+
Most patients feel warmth, tingling or a quick snapping sensation. Cooling systems help improve comfort.
What happens after a laser session?+
Mild redness, warmth or slight puffiness around each treated follicle is normal and usually settles within a few hours to a day. We'll advise cool compresses if needed, a fragrance-free moisturiser, strict sun protection on the treated area, and avoiding hot showers, saunas, swimming pools and vigorous exercise for 24–48 hours. Over the following days, treated hairs shed gradually — this can look like continued "growth" for 1–2 weeks before it stops, which is expected and not a sign the session didn't work.
What are the side effects of laser hair removal?+
Most patients experience only mild, temporary redness, swelling or warmth around treated follicles, settling within a day. Less commonly, treated skin can temporarily darken or lighten, especially in darker skin tones, and some patients notice small, pimple-like bumps as follicles react to the treatment. Blistering, burns or scarring are rare and are usually linked to incorrect settings for a given skin tone — which is exactly why our Phase 1 assessment and patch test exist. Protective eyewear is worn throughout every session to prevent eye injury. We'll talk through your individual risk factors at consultation.
Does laser hair removal cause cancer, hormonal problems or other long-term health issues?+
No — this is one of the most common myths, and it isn't supported by the evidence. Laser hair removal uses non-ionizing light energy, the same broad category as visible light, not ionizing radiation like X-rays, so it doesn't carry the DNA-damaging mechanism linked to cancer. The light is absorbed locally by pigment in the hair follicle and converted to heat right at the skin's surface — it doesn't reach the bloodstream, ovaries, thyroid or any hormone-producing organ, so it has no mechanism to disrupt hormones or fertility. The technology has been in routine clinical use for over 25 years with FDA clearance and a large body of long-term safety data, and no credible studies link it to cancer or lasting systemic health problems. Reputable concerns are limited to local skin effects — like pigment changes or burns from incorrect settings — which is why calibrated, dermatologist-supervised treatment matters far more than the laser itself.
Can I undergo laser treatment if I have PCOS?+
Yes, but more sessions and maintenance may be required. Treating the hormonal condition alongside laser can improve long-term control.
Can I shave between sessions?+
Yes, shaving is recommended. Avoid waxing, threading, plucking and epilating during the treatment course.
Can laser improve dark underarms?+
It may improve pigmentation caused by shaving, friction, waxing or recurrent inflammation. Other causes may need separate treatment.
Is facial laser hair removal safe?+
Yes, in suitable patients with correct settings. Very fine facial hair requires careful assessment, as inappropriate treatment can sometimes stimulate hair growth.
Can men undergo laser hair removal?+
Yes. Laser hair reduction for men is commonly used for the beard and neckline, chest, back and shoulders. Male hair is often coarser and denser, so settings and session counts are adjusted during assessment.
